Description
Set in the heartlands of St Patrick's country, the Miller"s Barn is a
distinctive cottage, part of the old mill village of Tobermoney and adjacent to
Mill Cottage. The 370-year-old stone cottage has been sensitively restored in
2007 using traditional materials including pitch pine flooring, stone flags and
oak beams and is very comfortably and tastefully furnished throughout. It sleeps
2 in a spacious upstairs bedroom with breathtaking views across the rolling
countryside.
Step in through the large front door and
experience the cosy quaint living room with its reclaimed pitch pine floor
boards and contoured walls. A central feature is the original 370 year old
chimney breast constructed from hand made brick. A Jotul wood burning stove now
sits in the original fireplace opening on a hearth of reclaimed stone flags.
The walls are painted with distemper, an original paint which allows the lime
rendered walls to breathe. The cottage is tastefully decorated with cosy Indian
checks and raspberry red coloured damask soft furnishings.
